The baking sun continued to beat down relentlessly, a heat shimmer causing mirage-like waves before my eyes. But an unexpected wilderness awaited in an unlikely place - our own backyard.
In the rough and ready North of England, this unassuming location has been transformed by my wife into a bustling ecosystem teeming with vibrant miniature life.
Armed with a camera, and more than a little trepidation, this nature-ninja ventured forth on an awe-inspiring adventure to capture the essence of a beautiful June day and uncover the hidden treasures, goings-on and the busy buzz of our walled-garden. I was not to be disappointed.
